PI70336: In IDz v14.0, creating Debug Configuration for IMS with "Debug Tool Compatibility Mode" creates an incorrect debug profile

Error description

• In IBM Developer for z Systems (IDz) version 14.0, creating a
  debug configuration for a remote IMS application, the generated
  remote debug profile will have an incorrect TEST entry when
  "Debug Tool Compatibility mode" is enabled. Here is an example
  of what the TEST entry may look like:
  
  <TST>TEST(ALL,,PROMPT,DIRECT&<ip-address>%<port>:*)
  
  If you close, then reopen the debug launch configuration, the
  "Debug Tool Compatibility mode" setting is unchecked.
  

Local fix

• Modify the TEST entry to
  <TST>TEST(ALL,,PROMPT,TCPIP&<ip-address>%<port>:*)
  

Problem summary

• When using the Debug Tool Compatibility mode option in the
  Remote IMS Application debug configuration or the Remote DB2
  Application debug configuration results in an user options file
  with a test runtime option string with DBM or DIRECT, instead of
   DBMDT or TCPIP.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was caused by the debug configuration not correctly
  persisting the Debug Tool Compatibility mode being correctly
  persisted to the local profile, prior to activating the remote
  debug profile.
