PI70050: USING FILE MANAGER TO MODIFY MQ QUEUE CONTENTS CAUSES INCORRECT UPDATES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Because of the way MQ Queues work, MQ will always add records
  to the end of a queue.  When performing a "move" operation,
  File Manager fails to delete the old queues.
  
  This APAR introduces the following changes to File Manager:
  - Delete MQ records when an M or MM (Move) is issued
  - Only allow the 'A' (After) prefix command for the copy or
  move to be issued against the last record in the MQ Queue.
  

Local fix

• Manually delete duplicate queue records after Moving (Copying)
  records to the end of a Queue.

Problem conclusion

• 1. File Manager has been modified to resolve the issue.
  2. File Manager was modified to display an informational
  message when entering the edit session of an MQ queue.
