Error description

• ?DSNIURTS DAEMON(STOP) fail to stop EDM Real Time Statistics
  (RTS). During migration there is contention on SYSPACKAGE table
  with EDM RTS which results in ABEND04E with SQLCODE904.

  During migration, DB2 Real Time Statistics (RTS) is turned off
  
   to avoid catalog contention between CATMAINT and RTS.
  
   However CATMAINT fails to turn off Environmental Descriptor
  
   Manager (EDM) RTS, which results in
  
   contention on SYSPACKAGE table between EDM RTS and CATMAINT.
  
   The above abend can be received.
  

Problem conclusion

• During migration, DB2 Real Time Statistics (RTS) is turned off
  
  DB2 has been changed such that EDM RTS can stop during CATMAINT.
  
  
  
  Before applying this APAR, to avoid CATMAINT contention, EDM RTS
  can be
  turned off by setting DISABLE_EDMRTS to YES on all DB2 systems
  
  in data-sharing environment or on the DB2 system which runs
  
  CATMAINT in non-data-sharing environent.
