PI69148: ZUNIT DOES NOT ALLOW TO INPUT DATA IN MULTIPLE LAYOUTS FOR REDEFINED STRUCTURES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In RDz v9.5.1 test data import for zUnit of a Cobol program
  fails if the Cobol program contains a REDEFINES structure.
  
  Scenario:
  1. In a Cobol program have a structure:
    01 DATA-REC.
            05 WS-EVS-DOB.
               10 WS-DOB-YYYY PIC X(4).
               10 WS-DOB-MM PIC X(2).
               10 WS-DOB-MM-N REDEFINES WS-DOB-MM PIC 9(2).
               10 FILLER PIC X(74).
  
  2.  Launch zUnit using a new generation configuration file.
  3.  Specify the data file as input, select to import records.
  4.  Select to generate the test case, select to have zUnit
  generate a test data file.
  5.  Following error message is shown:
  CRRZT0112E An error occurred while validating test data with
  schema. Specified test data expression is not supported:
  cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with
  element 'cbl:WS_DOB_MM_N'.
  One of
  '{"http://www.ibm.com/zUnit/Testdata/1.0.1.0/DATA_REC":fill_0}'
  is expected.
  

Local fix

• Do not use REDEFINES in the structure of the record to be
  imported
  

Problem summary

• zUnit Test data import set data in all layouts, so schema
  validation error occured.
  

Problem conclusion

• In zUnit test data setting, one layout should be selected to set
   test data from multiple layouts. zUnit has been corrected so
  that imported data in set only in redefined base structure.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.2 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
