  * that could have messages waiting on the IMS message queue.   *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * If the EGL cobolGen program does not exit, but instead has   *
  * another message on the queue, certain program flags were not *
  * reset, nor was SSM memory released. This can cause the       *
  * logical state of the program to be wrong and can lead to     *
  * various abends or unwieldy growth of the ELAWORK database.   *

Problem conclusion

• The software was updated to reset the flags and free the SSM
  storage when reading the next record from the IMS queue, as part
  of the processing for the previous IMS transaction.
