PI68874: RDZ V9.5 UNEXPECTEDLY PROMPTS FOR PASSWORD WHEN OPENING PL/1 SOURCE WITH EXEC SQL STATEMENTS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rational Developer for System z v9.5 unexpectedly prompts for
  password when opening PL/1 sources for edit with EXEC SQL
  statements. This does not happen in RDz v9.1.
  
  This problem is only observed with PLI sources containing EXEDC
  SQL statements, not with other source code languages.
  
  Steps to reproduce:
  - Connect to DB2 database
  - Activate, in the local compiler options, "Source contains SQL
  statements"
  - Add datatool development to the subproject by using the
  subproject context menu "Add data access development support"
  - Open PL1 a source that contains EXEC SQL statement
  

Local fix

• Cancel dialog
  

Problem summary

• When RDz is co-installed with Data Studio and a DB2 connection
  is configured, the PL/I Editor will prompt for password when a
  PL/I source program is opened that contains EXEC SQL statements.
  

Problem conclusion

• Modified PL/I preprocessor to not prompt for DB2 connection
  password during a routine PL/I parse.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.2 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
