APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If an IBM Rational Developer for System z 9.5.1 user opens a
  member for edit in a library where only READ access is allowed
  and tries to save to the member, the progress bar appears and
  hangs after twenty seconds.
  The changed content is displayed as if it would have been
  changed the library; however, the user gets a message:
  
    Operation failed. Input - or output failure of data.
    Message being avoided by data CRRZ0277E system ABE ND 913-38
    CRRZI0279E An OPEN was for a RAC-related file offset for which
  the caller is not authorized.
  
  This message is being changed to return a more user-friendly
  response and prevent the hang.

Problem conclusion

• Client is updated to display a dialog to Save As the files that
  can't be saved to original location.
  Client is also updated to indicate in the editor session that
  the file was not saved by displaying asterisk (*) on the file
  editor title.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.1.1.4 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
