Error description
The 0C4 in DFHTBSB occurs as a result of a bad SKELPTR in R5 of the failing instruction. Prior to the exception in the trace there is an: AP FCDD TBSM *EXC* MESSAGE NUMBER(5983) INSERT(CASW) Which corresponds with the following message: DFHZC5983 E - Unable to replace resource After this trace entry you see later on that a Build has failed and has a node address of 00000000. At this point DFHTBSB uses the NODE to address a TCTTE without checking it is non-zero. This leads to picking up a bad surrogate TCTTE, TCTESUR and TCTTESKA (SKELPTR) Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVRJL

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When autoinstalling a terminal, abend * * 0C4/AKEA occurs at offset X'00001076' * * in module DFHTBSB. Message DFHAP0001 * * is issued to report this. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The problem occurred when running with the z/OS IGVDGNPP debug tool (also known as PRIMEPSA) active. DFHTBSB called DFHTBSBP as part of terminal autoinstall. DFHTBSBP found that a resource with that name already existed and it was not possible to replace it. An error response and null address were returned to DFHTBSB. DFHTBSB used the null address as a TCTTE address and set an invalid skeleton TCTTE address from storage within the PSA. Subsequent use of this invalid address caused the 0C4 abend. Additional Keywords: S0C4 abend0C4 DFHZC5983 msgDFHZC5983 ZC5983 DFHAP0001 msgDFHAP0001 AP0001
Problem conclusion
DFHTBSB has been changed to check for a null address returned from DFHTBSBP and to set the skeleton TCTTE address to nulls in this case.
