Error description

• The performance degradation occurs because the logic detects the
  same variable when it was simply a variable and not when it was
  enclosed in a record. That enclosing caused the logic to think
  it was a different variable and hence needed to create a string
  to hold the intermediate value, instead of the higher performing
  logic.
