PI67904: ABEND04E 00C90101 DSNICMTC ERQUAL 1009

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DSNICMTC ERQUAL1009 occurs trying to change a lock to
  commit+1  duration that is not held.
  
  When DB2 has acquired the Drain (without the part lock),
  then promote to comm+1 isn't necessary.
  
  This error may be followed by a secondary error:
  ABENDS04E RC00C90101 DSNISEGD ERQUAL5001

  During commit process for a Cross Loader, DB2 tried to upgrade
  a partition lock that the Cross Loader didn't have. So, IRLM
  failed the request and DB2 ABND=04E-00C90101 at DSNICMTC:1009.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fix made in DB2 to properly check if the Cross Loader is
  holding the partition lock or not before making the upgrade
  request.
