    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    DB2 incorrectly abends with ABEND04E RC00E70006 at location
    DSNXIDDL.DSNXISB6:P380 instead of issuing an SQLCODE when an
    error is encountered during invalidation of packages dependent
    on a table that is implicitly converted from index-controlled
    to table-controlled partitioning during execution of one of the
    following DDL statements:
    - CREATE INDEX with PARTITIONED option
    - CREATE INDEX with PART VALUES clause and without CLUSTER
    - ALTER INDEX with NOT CLUSTER option of partitioning index
    - DROP INDEX of partitioning index
    - ALTER TABLE ADD CLONE

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 has been corrected to issue an appropriate SQLCODE rather
    than abending when an error is encountered during package
    invalidation for a table undergoing conversion from index-
    controlled to table-controlled partitioning.
