Error description

  • The supplied sample CTGSTJOB to compile, linkedit and  run the
statistics sample CTGSTAT1 fails with a condition code 8 on the
LINK step and the following messages are included in the output:
IEW2322I 1220  1      INCLUDE CTGLIB(CTGSTATS)
IEW2303E 1030 MEMBER CTGSTATS OF THE DATA SET SPECIFIED BY
CTGLIB
COULD NOT BE FOUND. As the customer has found, this is because
CTGSTATS is not in the SCTGSID dataset.

Local fix

  • Copy the <hlq>.SCTGSID(CTGSTATS) from CICS TG V9.1

The link-edit step of the sample job <hlq>.SCTGSAMP(CTGSTJOB)
fails with a JCL error because member <hlq>.SCTGSID(CTGSTATS) is
missing.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Transaction Gateway has been updated to generate the side
deck in <hlq>.SCTGSID(CTGSTATS) when the PTF is applied.
