Error description

  • Queue Service Interval High Events are not generated as
    expected. A queue is defined with QSVCIEV(HIGH) and
    QSVCINT(120000).
    On z/OS it seems that every PUT resets the queue service
    interval and a trigger is only generated if no message is
    put within 2 minutes (either by next PUT or GET).

    * to put new messages to the queue. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The internal queue service interval timer is reset for each
    message put to a queue, whereas the timer should only be reset
    for the first message put to an empty queue. In resetting the
    timer for each put, queue service interval event messages are
    not generated when they should be.

Problem conclusion

  • Processing has been amended to ensure that the internal timer is
    only reset when putting the first message to an empty queue.
