Error description

  • In Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.1.1.3, user build
    generated JCL
    always contain WSEDSF* and SYSXMLSD DD even if:
    - option ADATA, EX(ADX(ELAXMGUX)) is not defined
    - "Use for Syntax check" is unchecked
    JCL generated contains for example:
    //*START OF ERRORFEEDBACK DD STATEMENTS
    //SYSXMLSD DD DSN=HLQ.JAZZ.U6450930.XML,
    //          DISP=(MOD,KEEP),SPACE=(TRK,(200,40)),
    // DCB=(DSORG=PS,LRECL=16383,BLKSIZE=27998,RECFM=VB)
    //WSEDSF1 DD DSN=HLQ.JAZZ.U9225934.XML,
    //          DISP=(MOD,KEEP),SPACE=(TRK,(200,40)),
    // DCB=(DSORG=PS,LRECL=16383,BLKSIZE=27998,RECFM=VB)

Local fix

  • There is no known workaround at this time.

Problem summary

  • In Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.1.1.3, user build
    generated JCL
    always contain WSEDSF* and SYSXMLSD DD even if:
    - option ADATA, EX(ADX(ELAXMGUX)) is not defined
    - "Use for error feedback" is unchecked

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed to agree with the RDz documentation.
    User Build will generate error feedback JCL based on the
    following logic:

    COBOL:
     -When the translator has ADATA,EXIT(ADEXIT(ELAXMGUX)) in
    the Default Options field, the user build operation generates
    the additional JCL that is required for error feedback.
     -When the translator does not
    have ADATA,EXIT(ADEXIT(ELAXMGUX)) in the Default Options field,
    but the Use for Syntax Check property is enabled, the user build
    operation adds the ADATA,EXIT(ADEXIT(ELAXMGUX)) options and
    generates extra JCL that is required to support error
    feedback.The user build looks for the library that contains the
    ELAXMGUX user exit in the location of SFELLOAD specified in
    therse.env configuration file. If it is not found there, it
    looks for it in the libraries that are specified in the
    translator's TASKLIB.

    PL/I:
     -When the translator has XINFO(XML) in the Default
    Options field, the user build generates the additional JCL
    required for error feedback.
     -When the translator does not have XINFO(XML) in the Default
    Options field, but the Use for Syntax Checkproperty is enabled,
    the user build operation adds the XINFO(XML) option and
    generates the additional JCL required for error feedback.
