Error description

  • Customer complained that as RRS came back up, the broker region
was hanging after RRS restart. For instance,WMB broker region
was hanging when RRS was killed. By issuing MVS CANCEL command
to simulate RRS failure, EGs could be terminated but broker
region was hang after RRS restart.
It is because MQ Get-waiters using an RRS stub (such as IIB)
will never be posted after a restart of RRS.

    * MQGMO_WAIT hang if RRS is restarted *
    * while the application is waiting to be *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When RRS is restarted, any active RRS agents are driven through
End of Task (EOT) processing. This should result in any such
agents that are in an MQGET wait being posted when the handle
is closed, however an incorrect check in CSQM1P1W causes this
    post to be incorrectly skipped.

Problem conclusion

  • CSQM1P1W is changed to no longer skip the post when an RRS
    agent is driven through EOT.
