PI56126: UNABLE TO REMOVE LINKS FROM ONE CHILD FOLDER TO TWO PARENT FOLDERS.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer manually created a second link between a child folder
  and a parent folder when the child folder already had a link to
  another parent folder.   Unable to cleanup this situation using
  the batchupdater job get RC=04.
  
  When user run batch update program with LINK command to link
  selected item to new folder
  with option REMOVELINK=Y to remove the link from the old folder
  , the batch update program does not remove the old link
  if the item is already linked to the new folder.
  

Local fix

• Try using the Link command with option REMOVELINK=Y to remove
  the wrong link.

  When the item is already linked to the specific
  folder, the batch utility bypasses the rest of the
  process for this item and does not remove it from
  other folder(s) even if REMOVELINK=Y is specified.
  

Problem conclusion

• Batch update utility was changed to remove
  the item from its old folder(s)
  if option REMOVELINK=Y is specified.
