PI55890: WMQ Z/OS V8: FAILS TO ISSUE EXPECTED MESSAGE "DISPLAY ACTIVE TERMINATED WITH MAX LINES"

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• 'DISPLAY ACTIVE TERMINATED WITH MAX LINES' message was not
  issued  at the last line of CSQV402I as a result of the command
  'DISPLAY THREAD(*)' even if the number of lines  should have
  exceeded the max(252 dec.).
  
  The number of lines of output of dis thr(*) should have
  exceeded 251,but it does not indeed even the number of active
  threads is greater than the threshold.
  Therefore,expected message'DISPLAY ACTIVE TERMINATED
   WITH MAXLINES' is never issued as a result of the command
  'DISPLAY THREAD(*)' even though the number of "real" lines
  exceeds the max(252).
  
  For MQ version 8,the output of dis thr(*) displays 2 lines for
  1  active thread and looks like below  :

  When the number of acive threads exceeds 125,the issue can be
  recreated successfully.
  The number of lines of output of dis thr(*) should have
  exceeded  251,but it does not indeed.

  The command processor for DISPLAY THREAD(*) does not count the
  number of text lines properly resulting in the wrong message
  issued when the maximum number of text lines is exceeded.
  

Problem conclusion

• CSQVDTA has been updated to count the number of text lines
  correctly and to issue message DISPLAY ACTIVE TERMINATED WITH
  MAX LINES when the number of text lines exceed the maximum
  allowed for messages to the operator console.
