  This abend occurs when startup processing is trying to migrate
  the CHLAUTH records on SYSTEM.CHLAUTH.DATA.QUEUE and there is a
  record from V710 which is shorter than the V8 migrate code is
  expecting. In this case the record with
  TYPE(QMGRMAP) QMNAME('*')
  causes the problem.

  *                      in a V8 queue manager running with      *
  *                      OPMODE=(COMPAT,800) and after commands  *
  *                      to set CHLAUTH authentication records   *
  *                      have been executed.                     *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  The function that validates CHLAUTH records checks that the size
  of the record is equal or larger than a minimum size received as
  parameter. In this case the minimum size validation check fails
  resulting in abend 5C6-00A31000. The reason for the error is the
  parameter with the expected minimum size is incorrect.
  

Problem conclusion

• The minimum size passed to the CHLAUTH record validation
  function is now correct and valid records do not abend.
