9.5: PTF UI34563 for Rational Developer for z Systems Host Options

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rational Developer for System z 9.5.0 systems get a wide variety
  of symptoms due to 6 byte storage overlay in the CSA or ECSA
  
  Symptoms include many different problems.  S0C4 abends, Data
  sets not found, HFSs not mounted, OMVS broken, overlay in the
  CSA of the CATALOG address space. It all depends on which system
  service gets hit.
  
  Problems have been observed on z/OS 1.13, z/OS 2.1 and z/OS 2.2.
  Only RDz 9.5.0 is affected by this defect.
  
  To match this defect:
  - The overlay is x'000000' in the first 6 bytes of the damaged
    area.
  - The owning job of the preceding area is RSEDx where 'RSED' is
    the RDz started task jobname and 'x' is a digit.
  - The control block, which lives in COMMON STORAGE, is RDz
    storage with a length of x'170'. The return address
    listed as requesting that storage is "bin/fekfrmsg"
    IP WHERE req_addr ASID(X'0123') shows e.g.
