Error description

  • CICS estae exit code, DFHDMSVC, was processing.
It suspended for a lock. When it got back,
something had happened to its storage,
    causing it to program check.
CICS code is dealing with an IRREN2 parmlist
that is only X'18' bytes long, but trying to read x'30' bytes.
    .
This error only occurs on z/OS 1.12 or
    z/OS 1.13 without UA67929 applied.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
DFHDMENS is attempting to copy data from an ENF control block
from the security manager (e.g. RACF). The length of data copied
is based on the compile time length of the ENF2 control block,
and is fixed at x30 bytes. In the reported problem, CICS is
running on z/OS 1.12, and the ENF control block is a version 1
ENF2 control block, and is only x18 bytes in length. It happens
that the ENF2 control block is only x18 bytes from the end of a
the page. The attempt to copy x30 bytes runs over the intended
data and encounters an 0C4 trying to access the next page.
    .
This problem could also occur on z/OS 1.13, if z/OS PTF UA67929
    is not applied.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHDMENS has been corrected to use the runtime length
    of the ENF2 data structure.
