Error description

• When EGL handles text input of traditional Chinese and
  Simplified Chinese in structured records. The conversion of the
  encoding may get wrong and result in non-human-readable
  characters as output.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * There is no method to specify the internal encoding of a     *
  * char value. In the java remote call, the result is converted *
  * to bytes internally with the jvm encoding thus the customer  *
  * cannot specify encoding. If the jvm encoding takes different *
  * bytes as the remote encoding, some of the bytes will be      *
  * dropped.                                                     *

Problem conclusion

• Provide a new syslib function setCharacterEncoding(arg any in,
  encoding string in) to specify the internal encoding of the char
  values.
