Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 8 * * Release 0 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Using the WebSphere MQ Operations * * Panels to move messages between queues * * fails with CSQM090E when the target * * queue name contains lower case * * characters. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Using the WebSphere MQ Operations Panels to move messages between local queues fails when the target queue name contains lower case characters. Option 1 'List or Display' is selected from the 'IBM WebSphere MQ for z/OS - Main Menu' panel. Action code 4 'Manage' is then entered against one of the displayed local queues. On the 'Manage a Local Queue' panel CSQO41AA a target queue name containing lowercase characters is entered in the 'To queue name (Move)' field before selecting function type 5 'Move messages to another empty queue' or 6 'Move messages to another queue'. The move fails with following messages because the target queue name has been converted to uppercase and is not found. CSQM094I MQ1L CSQMRQLM TOQLOCAL(TEST8) WAS NOT FOUND CSQM090E MQ1L CSQMRQLM FAILURE REASON CODE X'00D44002' CSQ9023E MQ1L CSQMRQLM ' MOVE QLOCAL' ABNORMAL COMPLETION When CSQORCMD builds the MOVE QLOCAL() TOQLOCAL() command from the values specified in the panels, it invalidly converts the target queue name to uppercase.
Problem conclusion
CSQORCMD is changed to retain the case of the target queue name entered on the 'Manage a Local Queue' panel. 000Y CSQORCMD
