PI52831: COGNOS DATE FUNCTIONS NOT WORKING WITH NETEZZA DATA SOURCE

Error description

• Using these date filters in Report Studio 10.2.2 GA on a Netezza
  data source 7.2.0.5-P2, on the operating system Red Hat Linux
  6.7 64-bit, we get the following errors:
  
  1) [Date] >= _make_timestamp(extract(year, current_date), 07,
  01)
  
  Data source adapter error: org.netezza.error.NzSQLException:
  ERROR:Invalid Date.
  DV_Application"."APPLC_DTE" >= TO_TIMESTAMP('EXTRACT(YEAR
  FROM_CURRENT_DATE)-7-1', 'YYYY-MM-DD')
  
  2) [Date] >= _make_timestamp(?Enter_Year?, 07, 01)
  
  Data source adapter error: org.netezza.error.NzSQLException:
  ERROR:Invalid Date.
  "DV_Application"."APPLC_DTE" >= TO_TIMESTAMP(':Enter_Year:-7-1',
  'YYYY-MM-DD')
  
  3) [Date] >= _make_timestamp(extract(year, current_timestamp)  ,
  07, 01)
  
  No error but takes a very long time to process.
  

Local fix

• Use the following filter instead:
  [Date]>=to_timestamp(extract(year from
  now())||'-07-01','YYYY-MM-DD')
