PI49393: CLEARQUEST DOES NOT CLEAN UP LINKS TO STARTUP QUERIES WHICH ARE DELETED

Error description

  • ClearQuest does not clean up the links to the deleted queries
    and as a result users see confusing error message while logging
    in and also when trying to run the query from favorites. When
    users log into ClearQuest web, configured to run start up
    queries during login which has been deleted, they receive the
    following error message,
    
    Error from RPC server: Not-found error: CRMCU0027E An error was
    detected retrieving information from the ClearQuest database.
    There is a reference to an object that does not exist:
    Object Type: Bucket
    Object: ID
    This error was detected at: ClearQuest
    Core:adworkspacemgr.cpp:873
    Recommendation: If you cannot determine how to resolve this
    issue, contact Rational Support and provide all the above
    information as well as a description of the context in which the
    message occurred.

    Steps to Reproduce
    
    1.) Create a ClearQuest SAMPL database based on the Defect
    Tracking schema.
    2.) Create a user called "usera".
    3.) Login to the ClearQuest Eclipse client as user, "admin" and
    create a new query called "qryRpc".
    4.) Login to ClearQuest Web as "usera" and set "qryRpc" as
    Startup query as well as add to Favorites and logout.
    5.) Go back to the ClearQuest Eclipse client where you are
    logged in as "admin" and delete the query "qryRpc".
    6.) Login back to ClearQuest Web as "usera" and you get the
    following error:

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearQuest 9.0.0.5 and 9.0.1.1
    ClearQuest Web now pops-up an informative error message when
    executing a deleted start-up query.
