  DB2 run into a storage abend at physical close time due to a
  cancel occurred at physical open time while retrieving and
  loading Dictionary Pages into a Dictionary memory control block.
  When a cancel occurs in the middle of the process to retrieve
  Dictionary pages, some critical fields in the Dictionary memory
  block may contain residual values after the page loads.  These
  residual values may cause storage abend at the physical close
  time when they are not initialized yet due to a cancel.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 logic is modified to properly clean out specific control
  fields at the time an abend or a cancel occurs.
