    .
The TCB termination logic in DFHKETCB got changed. This
problem is exposed on the customer system because they are using
a non-default Language Environment Run-Time Option. The IPT
TCB for the SSL environment is at X'009A9A9A'.
    .
Verbx ledata 'tcb(009A9A9A),all' shows the following option :-
    .
    PARMLIB(CEEPRM00) OVR STORAGE(00,00,00,0000000000)
    .
The default for this option (and the LE recommended value) is :-
    .
    STORAGE(NONE,NONE,NONE,0000000000)
    .
The second 0 in the STORAGE option causes de-allocated heap
storage to be cleared. So when CICS returns from LINKETCB for a
second time, the savearea is all zeroes and this results in a
    branch to lowcore.

Local fix

  • Set the LE Runtime STORAGE parameter to:
    STORAGE(NONE,NONE,NONE,0000000000) (The recommended Default)

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 0C1 occurs during SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An immediate shutdown is performed of a CICS system that has SSL
active, and the z/OS environment has been configured with
Language Environment runtime options that specify a
    heap_free_value other than NONE.
As part of the immediate shutdown S8 TCBs are detached from
their mother TCB and abend 33E, which causes recovery routines
to be executed. DFHLEPT is driven twice, and on the second
execution accesses a freed savearea that has been cleared
because of the LE runtime options. This leads to an 0C1 abend.
    Additional keywords: abends0C1 S0C1 abend33E

Problem conclusion

  • The DFHKEMT macro has been modified so that when terminating an
S8 TCB in the scenario described above, an SVC 3 exit is
performed which prevents DFHLEPT from being executed for a
    second time.
