PI43981: Placing an "embed" related symbol into another the relationship is not refreshed

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Attempts to place inside symbol another symbol on your diagram
  the embeds relationship, is not refreshed as demonstrated by the
  explorer diagram in IBM Rational System Architect.
  
  SYMPTOM
  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Create a diagram the utilizes "embeds" relationship on
  definitions of symbols
  2. Place a symbol on the diagram
  3. Place a symbol inside the other symbol
  4. Save the diagram
  5. Create an Explorer Diagram
  6. Place the definition of the first symbol on the Explorer
  Diagram
  7. Use "Show Immediate Relatives"
  
  Expected Result:
  The relationship  line to draw out to an embedded symbol,
  because the relationship should be shown on population of the
  Explorer diagram after saving the diagram was supposed to save
  the relationshp in the definitions.
  
  Unexpected result:
  The relationship is not explored, indicating the relationship
  does not exist (or not yet defined) despite it being created on
  the diagram at step 3 above.
  
  WORKAROUND
  After step 4 above, move the embedded symbol and save again to
  create the relationship.
  
  Note:
  Using "Auto-Define" in your Preferences or the "Refresh" menu on
  the Explorer Diagram does not help.
  That is because these are not related to the problem. See
  Expected Result.

Problem conclusion

• Rational System Architect 11.4.3.5 has been fixed to show a
  relationship line from one symbol to another symbol with the
  text "embeds".
