APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The EXEC CICS INQ IPCONN returns blanks in the APPLID and
    NETWORKID, as Port contains zeroes.

This is because all the non-CICS autoinstalled IPIC connections
are always in Acquired state so they appear to return invalid
    values.

Local fix

  • statically define the IPIC connection

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CEMT INQUIRE IPCONN returns blanks *
    * APPLID and NETWORKID for an IPIC *
    * connection between CTG and CICS. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A CAPEX message is sent from CTG into CICS to acquire the IPIC
connection. DFHISCO is linked to handle the acquire process.
There are 2 variables which are used to save the client applid
and networkid, but does not get value in CTG-CICS scenario.

EXEC CICS INQUIRE IPCONN is then executed after the acquire
process. CICS believes the variables mentioned above are
properly assigned, and uses them to display APPLID and
NETWORKID. That causes a blank APPLID and NETWORKID being
    displayed.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHISCO and DFHISIC has been changed to make sure the APPLID,
NETWORKID and IPRESOLVED can be properly displayed.
