Problem summary

Enterprise COBOL V5.1.1 wasn't using the packed division
hardware instruction to compute the remainder; it was using an
additional sequence of instructions.

Problem conclusion

  • The compiler has been fixed to generate code that uses the
packed division hardware instruction to compute the remainder.
