PI42608: WMQ Z/OS 800:ISPF PANEL COMANDS ISSUES WRONG OPTION FOR SHARED CHANNEL

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Start of a shared channel from ISPF pannels forces "FIXSHARED"
  while "SHARED" is expected.
  And once a channel has been started in "FIXSHARED", subsequent
  restarts prevent the channel from being started as "SHARED"

Local fix

• Set the Disposition field on the 'Start a Channel' panel to ' '
  (blank) rather than one of the listed values (P, S, or A).
  
  As an alternative, issue the
   START CHANNEL(xx) CMDSCOPE(yy)
  command through the console or another interface besides the
  CSQOREXX panels.

  panels, the start channel panel (CSQOGCAA) indicates that
  disposition must be either P, A or S.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Start Channel panel CSQOGCAA and its associated help panel
  for the disposition field, CSQO7TA, are updated to indicate that
  the disposition can be specified as ' ' (blank) to start the
  channel using the default disposition specified by the channel's
  DEFCDISP attribute.
