PI41288: INDEX COMPRISED OF AN INLINE SUBSTRING OF A CLOB COLUMN IS NOT BEING UPDATED WHEN THE CLOB COLUMN IS SET TO NULL

Error description

• Check INDEX reports errors, for an index that is comprised on an
  inline substring of a CLOB column, when the CLOB column is set
  to null, since the associated index KEY/RID pair are not being
  updated.

  *                      LOB column to NULL if there is index on *
  *                      expression defined on the inline lob    *

  *                        ERQUAL5002 during DELETE.             *
  *                      - ABEND04E RC00C90101 DSNIOST2          *
  *                        ERQUAL5005 during Index Scan.         *
  *                      - CHECK INDEX reports data/index        *
  *                        mismatch with DSNU713I                *
  *                      - Incorrect output when index only      *
  *                        access.                               *
  *                      Other symptoms due to data/index        *
  *                      mismatch are also possible.             *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  Update setting inline lob column to null could miss to update
  the index which is an index on expression defined to the lob
  column.
  As the consequence, data/index mismatch problem could be
  exposed.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 code has been modified to make sure update setting inline
  lob to null will update the index also.
