PI37723: THE ACCESS DATABASE(DBNAME) SPACE(SPNAME) COMMAND WITH MODE(STATS) IS NOT UPDATING CLONE STATISTICS.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Issuing the ACCESS DATABASE(dbname) SPACE(spname) command with
  MODE(STATS) is not externalizing the in-memory real-time
  statistics for the instance (base table or clone table) that
  is not currently active.  Only the active instance is being
  externalized.
  

Local fix

• Issue START commands on both -->
   -START DB(dbname) SP(tsname)
   -START DB(dbname) SP(tsname) CLONE
  
  or wait for the STATSINT time interval to elapse.

  Real-Time Statistics (RTS) were not externalized for a clone
  object after -ACCESS DATABASE(DBNAME) SPACE(SPNAME) MODE(STATS).
  If the command is run with SPACE(*) the statistics for the clone
  are externalized.
  
  Incorrect program logic was causing RTS to skip the
  externalization of statistics when the spacename was specified.
  

Problem conclusion

• RTS code has been modified to externalize statistics for a clone
  object for an ACCESS DATABASE(DBNAME) SPACE(SPNAME) MODE(STATS)
  command.
