PI37059: JSON TRANSFORMATION TO APPLICATION DATA DOES NOT ALLOW NULL FOR NUMERIC FIELD. MESSAGE DFHPI1009 ISSUED.

Error description

• When using DFHJSON to transform JSON numeric fields to
  application data an INVALID_CHARACTER conversion error is
  returned in message DFHPI1009 if the incoming JSON data field is
  set to null.

  transformation failed. A conversion error(INVALID_CHARACTER)
  occurred when converting field yyyy for EBABUNDLE bbbbbb.

Local fix

• For JSON numeric fields pass 0 (zero) rather than null

  A JSON to data transformation is performed which includes a
  name/value pair declared with type "integer" or "number" in
  the JSON schema.
  However, in the JSON the value of this pair is null.  CICS
  detects that this is not a valid numeric value and a DFHPI1009
  error occurs with an error code of INVALID_CHARACTER.  This
  behaviour is inconsistent with that of the CICS Transaction
  Server Feature Pack for Mobile Extensions V1.0, available for
  CICS TS V4.2 and CICS TS V5.1.
  

Problem conclusion

• The conversion library used by CICS has been updated so that if
  a JSON to data transformation is applied to a numeric field that
  is null, then the resultant data contains the value zero.  This
  makes the behaviour consistent with earlier CICS releases.
  

Temporary fix
