Error description

• Rational Developer for System z - RDz - V 9.1
  
  When an MFS source file, opened with the MFS Editor, contains
  errors, trying to save and close the Editor might lead to an
  RDz workbench hang.
  
      Steps to reproduce:
  
  1 - edit a file that has syntax errors with the MFS editor,
  2 - In the source page, modify it,
  3 - Do one of the following steps
  A - In the source page, Ctrl+S
  B - In the design page, do Save (Ctrl+S, RMC->Save, File->Save)
  C - Try to close the MFS editor
  then, the workbench hangs.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The real time syntax check of MFS editor has an issue while
  parsing error messages. A logic that produces errors repeats
  many times when doing Save the mfs file or the resource is
  changed.
  
  The issue occurs:
  (1) Open the MFS editor the file that has syntax errors
  (2) In the source page, modify it
  (3) Do one of the following steps
   (A) In the source page, Ctrl+S
   (B) In the design page, do Save (Ctrl+S, RMC->Save, File->Save)
   (C) Try to close the MFS editor
  
  The issue causes a significant lag and user might think it as
  RDz hang.
  

Problem conclusion

• The handling error messages for the real time syntax check of
  MFS editor is modified to remove unnecessary repetition.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.1.1.1 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
