APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rational Developer for System z - RDz - V 9.1
  
  If a MFS source file contains a litteral string field definition
  
  equal to 'G', then when opening it with the MFS Editor, then the
  'Design' tab is missing.
  
  Re-creation steps:
  
  1 - define a MFS file, say 'USER.MFS(MEMBER)', with the
  following lines:
  ...
  nn         DFLD  'G',POS=(002,080),ATTR=(NUM,PROT,HI)
  ...
  2 - open that file with the MFS Editor, the Design tab is
  missing.
  3 - replace 'G' by 'H', close the file and re-open it, then the
  'Design' tab is present.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• MFS editor can't show design page/tab when the DFLD statement
  contains 'G' string.
  e.x. DFLD  'G',POS=(002,078),ATTR=(NUM,PROT,HI)
  

Problem conclusion

• The parser of MFS Editor has an issue while handling G literal.
  The handling G literal is updated to handle properly.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.1.1.1 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
