Error description

  • IN cases where the license server configuration contains corrupt
data, the license key administrator may fail on startup or when
attempting to change the license configuration.

The invalid configurations include, but are not limited to:
    - multiple @ characters in a single server name:
       27000@@server1 instead of 27000@server1
    - Incorrect/out-of-range "sequence numbers" in the windows
registry key used as the LKAD internal server list.

Local fix

  • Resolving the issue cannot be done within the license key
administrator itself. TO correct the problem the registry values
that control Rational Common licensing have to be removed and
    (correctly) recreated.

    TO do that:
    1) Remove the following values from
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\[Wow6432Node\]Flexlm License Manager
        RATIONAL_LICENSE_FILE
        IBMRATL_LICENSE_FILE
        TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE
    2) Remove the following registry key completely
        HKLM\SOFTWARE\[Wow6432Node\]Rational
    Software\Licensing\8.0\Server List
    3) Reconfigure licenses using the License Key administor. This
can be accomplished on the command line by running a command
    similar to:
        licadmin8 -s
    27000@server1;27000@triad1-1,27000@triad1-2,27000@triad1-3
