APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition v7.0.4 on z/OS,
you can receive a WebSphere MQ return code of 2002
(MQRC_ALREADY_CONNECTED) when attempting more than one file
transfer while using JZOS batch launcher with fteBatch Apache
    Ant.

    Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s):
    FSUM7351 error

Local fix

  • Change the "Ant" script to use a CLIENT mode connection to the
    command
queue manager instead of a BINDINGS mode connection.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This APAR affects all users of WebSphere MQ File Transfer
Edition and WebSphere MQ Managed File Transfer who use deferred
outcome processing in Apache Ant tasks.

This only applies where a BINDINGs transport mode connection is
used to the Command Queue Manager and this queue manager is
    running on z/OS.

    Platforms affected:
    z/OS

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The user was running an Apache Ant script that attempted to
issue fteant:filemove tasks with deferred processing.

The first task was issued successfully, but all subsequent tasks
failed to be issued with a WebSphere MQ return code 2002
(MQRC_ALREADY_CONNECTED). The underlying cause for this was the
fact that the WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition product code
attempted to issue multiple BINDINGs transport mode connections
to the command queue manager from a single thread.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition product code has been
updated to use separate threads when attempting to establish
multiple BINDINGs transport mode connections to a z/OS queue
    manager.
