  *                 the RIDs.                                    *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An ABEND04E RC00E72200 at DSNXSFPR      *
  *                      +25A0 (OFFSET25A0) can result when the  *
  *                      number of input RIDs is different from  *
  *                      the number of RIDs that were            *
  *                      partitioned.  This can occur if the     *
  *                      number of RIDs is larger than 2G        *
  *                      because one of the internal counters    *
  *                      was defined differently or incorrectly. *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  An ABEND04E RC00E72200 can occur at location DSNXSFPR offset
  25A0 when the number of input RIDs is different from the number
  of RIDs that were partitioned.  This can occur if the number of
  RIDs is larger than 2G because one of the internal counters was
  defined incorrectly which can result in a false comparison
  between a negative number and a very large positive number.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 has been modified to define the internal RID counters to be
  identical to avoid this comparison problem.
