  *                  and curious whether zEDC is used.           *

  When mod_deflate_z.so is used for compression, the z/OS
  customized version of libz may still use a software
  implementation.
  

Problem conclusion

• mod_deflate_z now records whether hardware offload was used on
  a request-by-request basis in the 'zEDC' environment variable.
  This variable can be logged by specifying the following
  logformat: %{zEDC}e
  
  The fix is targeted for IBM HTTP Server fixpacks:
  - 8.5.5.5
