Error description

  • The hybrid mobile app built with Worklight 6.1 failed to publish
to Windows Store due to certification failure error for UTF-8
    file encoding.

    e.g. ...\www\default\worklight\worklight.css is not properly
    UTF-8
encoded. Re-save the file as UTF-8 (including Byte Order Mark)

This error affecting all the *.js, *.css, *.html files in the
application package (native folder of windows8 environment)
including Worklight, Dojo, Cordova and application specific
    files.

In order to pass this test, all the files in the application
package needs to be encoded using UTF-8 including Byte Order
    Mark (BOM) (Not just UTF-8).

Local fix

  • Open the affected file and select Save As from the File menu in
Visual Studio. Select the drop-down control next to the Save
button and select Save with Encoding. From the Advanced save
options dialog, choose the Unicode (UTF-8 with signature) option
     and click OK.
