APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Attempts to make changes to a physical HTTP transport that has
    already been used in the current RIT session do not appear to do
    anything.
    For example, if you run some tests that use the transport and
    then add a Client Proxy setting, the Proxy setting is not used
    in further tests.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

    Create an HTTP transport and run a test that uses it.
    Edit the physical transport.
    Click the Client tab and add values for Proxy Host and Proxy
    Port.
    Re-run the test.

    EXPECTED RESULTS:

    HTTP access should go via the Proxy.

    ACTUAL RESULTS:

    HTTP requests go the same route as before the change, i.e.
    directly to the server and not through the Proxy.

    WORKAROUNDS:

    Either:
    Right-click on the physical transport and click Disconnect.

    Or:
    Close the project and re-open it.

    * USERS AFFECTED:                                              *
    * All users of Rational Integration Tester working with the *
    * HTTP/TCP proxy server.                                       *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * If the user changed the proxy settings after running a test *
    * (for example, on the HTTP transport), the previous *
    * connection would still be in place when the test was *
    * restarted. The connection would therefore not be made as *
    * the user might expect. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

Problem conclusion

  • A fix for this issue was provided in version 8.7.0 of Rational
    Integration Tester by automatically disconnecting if neither
    recording nor tasks are running. A warning message is displayed
    before the connection is reset.
