Error description

  • You have four transactions in a dead lock. Three of the
transactions are waiting to obtain the JVMSRVLK lock and the
other transaction is waiting to obtain the STLOCK.
The owner of the STLOCK is a transaction without a TCA and is
currently suspended in an LMQUEUE waiting to obtain the
    SJGLOBAL lock.
The transaction owner of both the JVMSRVLK and SJGLOBAL locks
is currently dispatchable waiting to run on T8 TCB. So why is
this task unable to run on the T8 TCB for so long?
Well the JVM and associated LE enclave have terminated but CICS
still thinks that the JVMSERVER is enabled and that the T8 TCB
is able to be used. The root of the problem is why the JVM went
    away.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The initial pthread TCB for a JVMSERVER is unexpectedly abended.
CICS has no recovery environment to intercept the abend of this
TCB so no diagnostic message or dump information is produced.

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM server initialisation module DFHSJPTI has been changed
to establish an ESTAE exit when a JVMSERVER is installed and
enabled. If the ESTAE exit is driven due to an unexpected abend
of the initial pthread TCB, new message DFHSJ0005 is issued to
report the error. DFHSJPTI will then attempt to take a system
dump with dump code KERNDUMP. Diagnostic information from the
SDWA will be saved into new pointers anchored from the
    sj_kernel_ipt_data block.

The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Version 5 Release 1
CICS Messages and Codes Vol 2 ( GC34286200 ) will be updated.
In Chapter 4, new message DFHSJ0005 will be added as follows :-

DFHSJ0005 APPLID AN UNEXPECTED ABEND HAS
OCCURRED ON THE INITIAL PTHREAD TCB FOR JVMSERVER:
               JVMSERVER

EXPLANATION: The initial pthread TCB for JVMSERVER
    resource jvmserver has abended unexpectedly.

SYSTEM ACTION: CICS attempts to take a system dump with
    dumpcode KERNDUMP.

USER RESPONSE: The JVMSERVER resource jvmserver
will become unresponsive and it will not be possible to
restart it. You should cancel CICS if you cannot run
    without the JVM server.
