APAR status

  • Closed as fixed if next.

Error description

  • Customers may switch database vendors where the case of metadata
is not the same. Their existing applications may work because
they do not use delimited identifiers in their SQL statements. A
customer will be unable to update an existing model due to the
inability to en-masses request an upper/lower case action on
external names etc. If they try to update their model they will
receive dialogs about deleting objects etc which confuses them.

Local fix

  • Customers have to apply edits manually or write custom scripts t
o change the model so they can then go back and update the model
     via metadata import, etc.
