Error description

  • The transaction getting this error is CITS. This task got
suspended for storage while it was trying to getmain storage
for subpool ZCTCTTEL. The task times out and then abend ATCH
processing starts. While DFHTBSS is in function SYNCPOINT, the
0C4 happens due to the R6 being invalid.

CITS has been called to autoinstall terminal 8588. During the
INSTALL the URM, DFHZATX is called with the terminal CLASH flag
on. The URM returned OK without changing the terminal ID.
The ZGTI INQUIRE call returned a skeleton TCTTE address for
8588 but for a different TOR. ZCQDL DELETE is called. During
the deletion a surrogate TCTTE is needed. So DFHZTSP SKELEXP is
called but failed to getmain storage for the surrogate TCTTE
because of storage constrain. ZTSP abend ATCH which drive
DFHZATS handle abend exit to issue message DFHZC6906 and
    re-issuing the abend.

During task abend SYNCPOINT ROLLBACK call the builder module,
DFHBSTZ READY PROC which expect a surrogate TCTTE pointer in
the skeleton TCTTE. Since it is null the code program check.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHAP0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has *
    * occurred in Procedure READY in DFHBSTZ. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Transaction CITS is installing a remote terminal and the
terminal id duplicates an existing skeleton TCTTE. During
the process of replacing the skeleton, a CICS GETMAIN for a
surrogate TCTTE fails because CICS is SOS, and the task is
suspended. The task is timed out before the storage can be
acquired and abends ATCH. As part of syncpoint rollback
processing, DFHBSTZ is entered for the failed delete of the
skeleton TCTTE, and incorrectly handles the case where there
is no surrogate TCTTE address, which results in the 0C4/AKEA
    abend.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHBSTZ has been changed to check whether there is surrogate
TCTTE before referring to its address.
