PI23824: MSGDSNJ108I WRITE ERROR ON BSDS RECEIVED AFTER OFFLOAD TASK ABENDED.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During log offload, the offload task entered a WAIT in QSAM
  for over 5 minutes while holding the BSDS latch.  DB2 abended
  the offload task TCB with S04F-00D1F001 to releive the latch
  contention.  The offload task Estae did not reset a tracking
  bit correctly, which resulted in MSGDSNJ108I WRITE ERROR ON
  BSDS on the next BSDS update due to an incorrect record length.
  MSGDSNJ126I BSDS ERROR FORCED SINGLE BSDS MODE was then
  received.

Problem conclusion

• The offload Estae has been changed to reset the tracking flag
  in the LRB1 block when driven for an offload task abend.  The
  offload task will also initialize the LRB1 flags at the
  beginning of the offload process.
