APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v8.5.1.4
  
  PLI editor is flagging the proc statement as not having an end
  when there is an end.  The error in the yellow triangle is:
  "Procedure end" inserted to complete scope
  
  The next 400+ lines are flagged with yellow underscores.
  
  Multiple lines of comments are also not recognized as valid.
  
  For example, all three lines below will be flagged as errors:
  /*
  comments
  */
  
  Most of the program is underlined in yellow, however, the
  program compiles successfully.
  

Local fix

• You can use the System z LPEX editor and the yellow underlines
  are not
  displayed, although the same warning exists with the proc end.
  

Problem summary

• The RDz PL/I Parser contained a defect that prevented the
  program parse from completing successfully.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.6 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
