    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: During a period of extremely high *
    * activity, including excessive tracing *
    * of exceptions generated in local MASes, *
    * your CMAS receives abend ASRA (S0C4) in *
    *                      method XQGQ (EYU0XQGQ - Get Record from *
    *                      Queue) or method XQCP (EYU0XQCP - Copy  *
    * Queue). Depending on the task which *
    * called the abending method, it is pos- *
    * sible that the CMAS in which the abend *
    * occurred might be forced to shut down. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes and MASes must be recycled *
    * to pick up the new code. Note that regions *
    * do not need to be brought down and restarted *
    * at the same time. *

       During development of V5R1M0 of CPSM, changes were made to
    the way that CPSM manages data space ALETs and access registers.
    If a queue spans multiple data spaces, a logic error caused the
    offset of the next Queue Record Locator Block (QRLB) to be
    loaded from the current block offset in the next block's data
    space. This could result in an S0C4 abend when accessing the
    next block, or in overlay of storage at the offset loaded from
    the incorrect data space.

Problem conclusion

  • Modules EYU0XQGQ and EYU0XQCP were modified to load the
    offset of the next block from the current block's data space.
