Error description
Rational Developer for system Zenterprise (RDz): RDz client 8.5.1.4 displays syntax error message using COBOL Editor from the AIX perspective with references defined in a copy member which is called by "EXEC SQL INCLUDE <member> END-EXEC". Error message "Unable to resolve reference" is displayed.

Copybooks are not being pulled in for EXEC SQL INCLUDE in AIX COBOL.
Problem conclusion
In AIX COBOL files with EXEC SQL INCLUDE statements to include copy members in COBOL with embedded SQL, the copybook finder would fail during lookup of the copybook. This means that data items defined in the copybook would show up with errors saying "Unable to resolve reference". This copybook lookup has been updated to work with EXEC SQL INCLUDE statements. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.5 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
