  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * The special type fields, such as array, date, time,          *
  * timestamp, hex or boolean, were not being initialized        *
  * properly when the user did a set empty statement against a   *
  * structured field that has sub fields of any of those types.  *
  * The normal use of set empty against a record is not          *
  * affected. It is only when a partial record, defined from the *
  * specified structured field and its leaf items, is the target *
  * of the set empty.                                            *
