APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Direct update failed on certain iOS devices.
  
  The download was completed but failed when unpacking and the app
  will close itself. When the app restarted, Direct Update dialog
  reappear and the cycle begins again.

  * The direct update algorithm stored the update date (received *
  * from the server in Base64 encoding) in memory. Decoding of   *
  * the update data doubled memory footprint and led to crash.   *

Problem conclusion

• The problem was fixed by storing the update data received from
  the server in a temporary file. Also an additional algorithm was
  developed to decode Base64 data from file.
